| Cinnamon stick, star anise, bay leaf | one piece each |
| Onion | one large chopped |
| Ginger garlic paste | 1 tbsp |
| Tomato | one medium sized cut into small pieces |
| Potato | one medium sized, peeled and cut into small cubes |
| Chilli powder | 2 tbsp |
| Coriander powder | 1 tbsp |
| Curry masala powder | ½ tsp |
| Turmeric powder | ¼ tsp |
| Coconut milk | ¼ cup (optional) |
| Oil for sauting, salt to taste and coriander leaves for garnishing |
